Upper Cervical vs. Conventional Chiropractic - Conventional Chiropractic uses generalized adjustments focused on increasing range of motion, decreasing muscular spasm, and temporarily relieving pain. Upper Cervical Chiropractic takes a precision approach to the spine by understanding the relationship between Structural Shifts in the upper cervical (upper neck) region and the onset of Secondary Conditions (also known as symptoms).
When Structural Shifts occur, a variety of Secondary Conditions are likely to emerge in the same way that a shift in the foundation of a building would produce squeaky floorboards, doors that stick, and cracks in the walls. Conventional “patch-and-fix” methods are effective for addressing many symptoms, but these issues are likely to reappear if the structural cause is not corrected.
At Zenith Chiropractic, our diagnostic process not only uncovers Structural Shifts, but also provides the blueprint for safely and effectively directing your body back to Normal Structure where it heals and functions best.
The upper portion of the neck (upper cervical spine) has unique characteristics that make it the “weakest link” in the spine and as such susceptible to injury. Falls, poor posture, sports injuries, whiplash, and concussions are just a few of many factors that can contribute to Structural Shifts in the upper neck region. Atlas Displacement Complex (ADC) is a condition involving abnormal alignment, mechanics, and nervous system function stemming from the upper neck - also known as upper cervical vertebral subluxation.
At Zenith Chiropractic we focus on correcting Atlas Displacement Complex rather than attempting to mask symptoms. We use state of the art technology and Blair Upper Cervical Specific technique to safely and effectively obtain lasting correction without twisting or popping the neck.
ADC can contribute to disruptions in blood and spinal fluid flow through the brain, mechanical tension on the spinal cord, structural stress to the discs and ligaments of the spine, and distorted nerve signals into the brain. When this happens, one or more secondary conditions (a.k.a. symptoms) are likely to emerge including:
The first step is to schedule a Complimentary Consultation with the Doctor. This simple conversation will give you the opportunity to explain your needs and goals, learn about our solution, and determine if Zenith Chiropractic is the right place for you. We will also discuss common questions and concerns relating to chiropractic care.
We use objective testing to determine the best course of care for our patients. The comprehensive evaluation process includes: 3D Structural Imaging, Digital Structural Analysis, Dynamic Goniometry, and Neurological Baseline testing - evidence of your problem that you can see for yourself.
Following the completion of your evaluation, a follow up visit is scheduled to review your test results and treatment plan recommendations. Your plan is individualized based on your test results, goals, and circumstances.
Your initial treatment plan will involve strategies for inside of the office as well as outside of the office. As we progress through your care we will work together to make sure that you are progressing toward our goals. Upon completion of your initial treatment plan, we will then re-test to measure the progress that’s been achieved. At this time we will discuss long term strategies and any additional care that may be required to meet your needs.
Our team at Zenith Chiropractic is dedicated to helping you reach optimal health and we look forward to meeting with you in order to design a personalized plan that meets your needs.
